This role is ideal for a dedicated and experienced professional who is highly organized and detail-oriented.
The position reports to the City Manager and is an essential part of our Leadership Team.
In this role, you will be responsible for directing operations and developing policies, procedures, and budgets for the City Clerk's Office.
Your duties will include drafting and advertising agendas, bids, and legal notices; managing public records; assisting the Mayor and City Council; coordinating elections with the Supervisor of Elections; ensuring compliance with Sunshine Law and Ethics Commission; and participating actively in the city's disaster preparation and recovery efforts.
Mary Esther, a city with an estimated population of 4,396, is part of the Destin/Fort Walton Beach/Crestview metropolitan area.
It is known for its strong military community, high quality of life, low crime, excellent schools, and abundant recreational opportunities.
The city operates under a mayor-council-manager government, committed to progressive growth and community engagement.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field, with at least five years of relevant experience, including supervisory roles.
Experience in a municipal organization and/or as a City Clerk or Deputy Clerk is preferred.
Skill in Tyler Technologies ERP Pro Software is a plus.
