Responsibilities:
Machine Operation:
Operate and oversee various bindery equipment, including but not limited to cutters, folders, stitchers, and collators.
Set up, adjust, and calibrate machines according to job specifications.
Quality Assurance:
Monitor output for quality, making adjustments as necessary to ensure the final product meets established standards.
Conduct regular checks on finished materials to identify and rectify defects or discrepancies.
Job Scheduling:
Follow production schedules and prioritize tasks based on deadlines and job specifications.
Coordinate with the production team to ensure timely completion of projects.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
Perform routine maintenance on bindery equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Identify and troubleshoot minor technical issues, and escalate more complex problems to maintenance or engineering as needed.
Material Handling:
Organize and manage materials, including paper stock, ink, and other supplies.
Order and restock supplies as needed to maintain uninterrupted production.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate production records, including job specifications, quantities produced, and any issues encountered during production.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with other production team members, including machine operators, printers, and finishers, to achieve production goals.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent (technical training in bindery operations is a plus)Proven experience as a bindery operator or in a similar roleProficiency in operating and maintaining bindery equipmentStrong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skillsAttention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality workAbility to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentGood organizational and time management skillsPhysical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move heavy materials up to 50lbsStand for extended periodsManual dexterity for handling small parts and equipment
