Our world-premier kayak company is expanding in the Destin / Mary Esther area! We are looking for outgoing, eco-loving individuals as tour guides! We are currently hiring for day time tours, Monday through Friday.
You must be comfortable instructing groups of up to 10 people.
We host small 2 - 2.
5 hour tours (1-5 kayaks) and strive for a personal learning experience for our guests that includes a paddling lesson and boating safety! Our kayak ecotours are done in 100% clear kayaks-perfect for the beautiful clear waters of the Emerald Coast.
The ideal candidate will:
Interact with guests during check-in, assist with loading and unloading kayaks, and engage with guests during the tour with a friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming attitude.
Ensure safety for all guests.
Provide a paddling lesson that includes boating and wildlife safety before launching and during the tour assist in building paddling technique and skill! Provide relevant information about the ecosystem and wildlife that call this area home, while promoting responsible ecotourism practices through passive observation Share a deep knowledge of the Mary Esther, Destin and Santa Rosa Sound While every tour may not see wildlife, every guest should leave with a plethora of fun, interesting, obscure facts about our Ecosystem.
Provide high-quality and professional customer service.
Sharing your stories, experiences to connect with each guest.
Cleaning and maintaining equipment.
Qualifications:
Available 2-4 days per week during the day and/or be willing to work weekend or nights leading tours on the water at night for our sunset and glow tours.
You select your days and shifts.
Have a passion for being outdoors and willing to inspiring others to try new things like kayaking for the first time! A dash of patience too! If not already certified, you must be willing to complete certifications in CPR/BLS and wilderness first aid.
Maintain a CPR/BLS certification.
This is a physically demanding job requiring the ability to load and unload kayaks, up to 60 pounds, on and off of a trailer throughout the day.
The ability to paddle up to 2.
5 hours two to three times per day.
Complete the Wilderness First Aid course.
(Course fee is provided to qualified candidates) Students are welcome to apply - perfect for students studying conservation, Florida Master Naturalist, teachers, or local residents with extensive knowledge of the local ecosystem.
Kayaking or standup paddleboarding experienced required.
